SOLICITORS HONOURED BY BRITISH RED CROSS
CHALFONT St Giles solicitors Cartmell and Co have been presented with a certificate by the British Red Cross (BRC) for raising nearly £10,000.
The company, who also have a branch in Stone, took part in the Will Aid scheme in which they wrote wills in return for a donation to charity.
Anna Rzemieniecka from the BRC said: “We’d like to thank Cartmell and Co and all the people who made their will during Will Aid month last November.
“The time donated by solicitors and the generous donations from everyone who made a will are already helping to save and transform lives around the world.
“Will Aid also gives people the opportunity to leave legacy gifts and we are extremely grateful to everyone who chose to include the Red Cross in their will.
Will Aid, now in its 27th year, raises money for ActionAid, BRC, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save The Children, Sightsavers, Age UK, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund and Trocaire and has this year £1.1m.
Robert Cartmell, director and solicitor at the firm, said: “We were delighted to once again take part in the Will Aid programme. We will absolutely be taking part again next year.”
Campaign director Peter de Vena Frank said: “Over the years, the Will Aid campaign has made an amazing contribution to the work of the nine participating charities and this year was no exception. I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to the solicitors and will makers in this area and let them know that thanks to them, lives will change for the better and people who need it will continue to receive the help and support that the charities work so hard to provide.”
