AN Amersham Councillor is ‘honoured’ to have been elected as the chairman on Chiltern District Council for a second term.
Councillor Mimi Harker has been announced as the chairman of Chiltern District Council for a second year, again with Councillor Nigel Shepherd as her vice-chairman.
She was formally reelected at the annual meeting of the council on Tuesday, May 17. For her second term of office, Mrs Harker has increased the good causes she aims to help in the year ahead.
Already a strong campaigner for many cancer charities, she has added the Scouts, Contact the Elderly, Silver Sunday, Chiltern Foodbank and Dreamflight to the groups she will support. She is also becoming an Ambassador for the Girl Guides.
Mrs Harker said: “It’s a huge honour to serve the residents of Chiltern as chairman and I will work hard on their behalf. I plan to make the most of the coming year, giving my energy and time to causes which do immense good for thousands of people.
“I wish to thank everyone who has worked with me during the past year and hope my second term of office will see even greater support for the causes I wish to help.”
