Chair­man re-elected

AN Amer­sham Coun­cil­lor is ‘hon­oured’ to have been elected as the chair­man on Chiltern Dis­trict Coun­cil for a sec­ond term.

Coun­cil­lor Mimi Harker has been an­nounced as the chair­man of Chiltern Dis­trict Coun­cil for a sec­ond year, again with Coun­cil­lor Nigel Shepherd as her vice-chair­man.

She was for­mally re­elected at the an­nual meet­ing of the coun­cil on Tues­day, May 17. For her sec­ond term of of­fice, Mrs Harker has in­creased the good causes she aims to help in the year ahead.

Al­ready a strong cam­paigner for many can­cer char­i­ties, she has added the Scouts, Con­tact the El­derly, Sil­ver Sun­day, Chiltern Food­bank and Dream­flight to the groups she will sup­port. She is also be­com­ing an Am­bas­sador for the Girl Guides.

Mrs Harker said: “It’s a huge hon­our to serve the res­i­dents of Chiltern as chair­man and I will work hard on their be­half. I plan to make the most of the com­ing year, giv­ing my en­ergy and time to causes which do im­mense good for thou­sands of peo­ple.

“I wish to thank ev­ery­one who has worked with me dur­ing the past year and hope my sec­ond term of of­fice will see even greater sup­port for the causes I wish to help.”
