GROOVY! 60s PARTY GOES WITH A SWING
PUPILS at Butlers Court School took a trip back in time to party in a groovy way.
The PTA threw a 1960s themed do for the youngsters to celebrate 50 years of the school which opened in 1966.
Kids were invited to dress up in 1960s outfits and took part in a fancy dress parade judged by head teacher, Jeanette Marshall.
After enjoying a party lunch they sang Happy Birthday to the school while Mrs Marshall blew out candles on a cake specially made by Sarah Ayres, a parent, and the children enjoyed a disco provided by Disco Dave.
Every child received a Butlers Court 50th memento pen and an anniversary gift from sponsors Inland Homes.
Mrs Marshall said: “The children look fantastic and parents have gone to a great deal of effort to provide such great 1960s outfits and party food.
“Certainly a day our pupils will always remember.”
