Kwatsha proving to be a real Gift for high-flying Chesham
Bowler takes six wickets in fifth successive win
Andy Goddard (18) and then a belligerent Kwatsha took Chesham to 118 before he also fell, leaving Mciver and France to finish it with 18 overs to spare.
A remarkable game saw the 2nds emerge victorious over Kidmore End by 26 runs, having been bowled out in a mere 26 overs for a paltry 87, with extras top scoring on 20 and Chris Royals contributing an invaluable 19 not out.
To their credit, Chesham’s heads remained high and Kidmore wickets fell at regular intervals to Peter Clifford (4-19 in 18 overs) and Royals (3-23) as they crawled to 387, before Alex Watson (3-9) finished them off for 61 after 48 overs of attritional cricket.
The 3rds enjoyed their first win of the season, beating Teddington Town by 82 runs, thanks to knocks of 78 from A Naik and 59 not out from R Shylendrs, followed by Steve Ayres’ 4-17 and Mo Asuaf’s 4-61.
The 4ths completed a clean sweep when British Airways conceded their match after failing to get a team off the ground, while on Sunday, Chesham won their opening Chess Valley League game against Finchley by 10 runs, Mark Eteen starring with a fluent 73.
