Gym­nasts head­ing off to Florida for World test

FOUR gym­nasts from the Bea­cons­field-based Chiltern Gym­nas­tics have qual­i­fied for the In­ter­na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of In­de­pen­dent Gym­nas­tics Clubs World Cham­pi­onships.

The girls – Anna Gill, Ken­dra Mor­ris, Ab­bie Dead­man and Freya Harrison – will com­pete against gym­nasts from a num­ber of other coun­tries in Or­lando, Florida, to­wards the end of the month.

Gill and Mor­ris are stu­dents at Bea­cons­field High School, where the club is based, while Dead­man at­tends Dr Chal­lon­ers High, in Lit­tle Chal­font, and Harrison is at St Mary s School, in Ger­rards Cross.

Club man­ager Brian Du­ley and head coach Mal­colm Bridges will ac­com­pany the girls and their par­ents to Amer­ica and the jour­ney has been aided by kind spon­sor­ship from the Mem­o­ries of In­dia restau­rant in Farn­ham Com­mon.

Bridges said: “This is the re­sult of hard work and ded­i­ca­tion and the girls are de­ter­mined to per­form to the best of their abil­i­ties.”
