Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

MIKE LAWSON Town councillor

I agree with Joanne Lester that the Advertiser did not report the Gerrards Cross Fun Run adequately, given it’s importance in the town, it was a pale imitation of the coverage two years ago.

I was pleased to see that the two girls from St Mary’s school who won prizes for their success in designing a Gerrards Cross Boost logo did receive a mention.

It would have been nice to see a separate photograph with a caption.

As to GX Boost: this is an initiative that has been in progress for nearly a year and is aiming to coordinate and improve cooperation amongst the major organisations in Gerrards Cross to enhance the cleanliness and friendliness of the town by informing their members of events and volunteering opportunities.

Watch out for the boost logo on badges and shop windows acknowledging their support of the town.

The organisations involved include the fun run, churches, schools, traders association, major businesses, rotarys and the town council.
