Prop­erty prices ris­ing £160 a day

HOUSE prices in South Bucks rose by £169 a day over the year un­til April 2016.

Prop­erty prices in the dis­trict have risen by 12 per cent to an av­er­age of £574,569, or at a rate of £169 per day.

The high­est per­cent­age in­crease in Bucks was in Ayles­bury Vale where house prices have risen by 16 per cent in a year.

The av­er­age price in the area is now more than £300,000 ac­cord­ing to the new of­fi­cial house price in­dex, as prices have risen 15.7 per cent from £262,706, in April 2015, to £303,834, in April 2016, or by an av­er­age of £113 a day.

UK av­er­age house prices have in­creased by 8.2 per cent in the year to April 2016 (down from 8.5 per cent in the year to March 2016), con­tin­u­ing the strong growth seen since the end of 2013.

The av­er­age UK house price was £209,000 in April 2016. This is £16,000 higher than in April 2015.

Lon­don was the re­gion which showed the high­est an­nual growth, with prices in­creas­ing by 14.5 per cent in the year to April 2016.

The east of Eng­land (13.6 per cent) and the south east (12.3 per cent) also had high an­nual growth.

The low­est an­nual growth was in the north east, where prices in­creased by 0.1 per cent.
