Now Bea­cons­field is ready for big day

AS BEA­CONS­FIELD pre­pares for one of the big­gest com­mu­nity events of the year, we take a look at ev­ery­thing there is on of­fer for the day out.

Tak­ing place on Satur­day (June 18), from 11am un­til 2pm on the town coun­cil green, Bea­cons­field Now prom­ises to be an in­for­ma­tive day out where at­ten­dees can learn all about the dif­fer­ent com­mu­nity groups in the town. Along with the stalls, there will be a bouncy cas­tle and a climb the fire en­gine. Peo­ple will also be able to re­sus­ci­tate An­nie with the St John Am­bu­lance shoot a goal and lis­ten to some great mu­sic.

Con­firmed stall­hold­ers in­clude wildlife groups – Friends of Holt­spur Bank, But­ter­fly Con­ser­va­tion, Bea­cons­field Don­key Derby sup­ported by the Li­ons, Blue Cross – the re­hom­ing or adop­tion of pets – and mas­ter com­posters.

There will also be groups to in­form and teach new skills such as Bea­cons­field Li­brary, Bea­cons­field Model Rail­way Club, Univer­sity of the Third Age, WEA, WI and the Bea­cons­field and Dis­trict His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety with their new ar­chive web­site

Groups to de­velop our cre­ative side in­clude NADFAS, The Young Theatre, girl guides and scouts. Car­ing groups will be Car­ers Trust Cen­tral and South Bucks, MacMil­lan Can­cer Sup­port, Brain Tu­mour Re­search, Bea­cons­field Friends of Can­cer Re­search, Abbey­fields Brad­bury House care for the el­derly, School Aid, the Royal Ar­tillery As­so­ci­a­tion, the Jor­dan’s and Dis­trict Ro­tary Club and the Bea­cons­field Ro­tary group.

For fit­ness fans there will be Ac­tive Bucks, the Bea­con Cen­tre, Sy­cob Football Club, Al­fris­ton School and pool.

Com­mu­nity Groups in­clude Bea­cons­field Town Coun­cil, Bea­cons­field Twin­ning As­so­ci­a­tion, The Bea­cons­field So­ci­ety/ BOTRA and Churches Together Bea­cons­field.
