European rural grant programme Leader makes two new appointments
THE European Union funded rural grant programme Leader, which is designed to support rural businesses to create jobs and support the rural economy, has announced the appointment of two new members to its team.
Luke Faulkner is the new Leader programme manager and Will Dallimore joins as the Leader project officer for North and West Northants and Clay Vales area.
Amber Kelly is already in place as project officer for the Chilterns.
Mr Faulkner said: “I’m delighted to take up the role of programme manager and aim to follow the high standards of delivery set by Mike Furness. I’m confident we have a firm basis in place with the new appointments to develop the programme further and benefit the rural economy.”
The Leader programme has been running across England for more than 10 years and a new round of grant funding is now operating for 2015 to 2019.
Rural businesses across the Chilterns can now apply for grants of up to £50,000. The grants are administered by Ngage Solutions, on behalf of the Leader Local Action Groups.
The Leader programme is designed to promote business growth, particularly the growth of micro and small businesses.
It is focused on rural areas supporting small rural companies, farm diversification projects, forestry projects, tourism projects, rural services and cultural and heritage projects.
