Graduate Evie takes PGA post at Harewood
Young golfing star will assist club pro Morris
Downs in 2012. Since turning full time, she has played in ProAms and on the BB&O county circuit, as well as in some WPGA one-day series, endeavouring to play and compete to a higher standard every season.
Meanwhile, men’s captain Paul Vaughan attracted a huge field of 143 to his Captain’s Day on Saturday, when former club captain Ian Terry won the stableford competition.
Terry shot an excellent 40 points, one more than second-placed Charlie Wells, while third, on countback, was Matthew Cox with 38.
Elsewhere, Harewood youngster Daisy Kennedy came fifth in the 1314 years age category in the Girls’ European Championships at Gullane, near Edinburgh, with an exceptional plus 15 score over three rounds in gale force winds.
Finally, the Ladies’ Handicap, played over 27 holes, was won by Pat Milliner, with a nett score of 114, ahead of Helen Audaer in second, with 116, and Julie Blake, who took third place on count back with 118.
