AUTHOR D.J. Kelly dropped into the Gerrards Cross bookshop to talk about her new book, Buckinghamshire Spies and Subersives.

The book tells of the county’s 600 year history of subversion, sedition and espionage, and details how Bucks has been home to countless spies, secret agents, heretics, informers and plotters.

Reviewers have called the book informative and revealing, as it higlights the county’s role in British Intelligence through the years.

DJ - real name Denise Beddows - is based in the county and has a background in investigation and intelligance anlysis.

She is a keen supporter of events such as the Chalfont St Giles and Jordans Literary Festival where she was among eight other authors who spoke at a writers’ cafe and pop-up book shop.
