Garden date for vice chairman
NEWLY elected Bucks county council vice chairman Patricia Birchley carried out her first engagement in Beaconsfield.
Patricia attended the summer garden party of Universal Care, which provides care at home for older and vulnerable people, on Tuesday.
She was cabinet member for health and well-being from 2010 to 2015, and was presented with the chain of office at the council’s annual general meeting on Thursday, May 26.
She said: “As our population gets increasingly older, it is ever more imperative to help people to enjoy their independence and remain at home with the support and care they need to live active and sociable lives.”
As vice chairman, she will support new chairman Val Letheren, who represents Chiltern Ridges Division and became a county councillor in 2005.
