Im­pres­sive set of re­sults helps Har­ri­ers in to sec­ond place

Good per­for­mances across dis­ci­plines leads to suc­cess for girls

They had an­other great match at Lit­tle Mar­low on Sun­day, fin­ish­ing sec­ond be­hind league lead­ers Bed­ford & County, who are also the only team ahead of them in the over­all stand­ings with one fix­ture left.

Sade Wal­lace had a great de­but for the U15 girls with a win in A string dis­cus (21.74m), while an­other debu­tant, Jane Wil­liamson, ran her first 1500m race and took third in the A string in 5.06.5. Beth Wel­ham had an ex­cel­lent day with three per­sonal bests, win­ning both B string dis­cus (16.74m) and javelin (19.14m), and fin­ish­ing sec­ond in B string 1500m (5.10.3).

Mil­lie Hughes also bagged a cou­ple of PBs for sec­ond place in A string ham­mer (19.25m) and javelin (24.85m), as well as fin­ish­ing sec­ond in the B string shot.

Race of the day was the U15 boys 1500m, where three boys gained English Schools qual­i­fy­ing times, in­clud­ing Chiltern’s Cameron Reid, who fin­ished third in 4.22.00, while Alex Al­dred won the B string in a PB of 4.42.50.

The 800m also pro­vided good points for Chiltern, with An­gus Wil­liams im­pres­sive in win­ning the A string in 2.09.10 and Thomas Job com­ing sec­ond in the B string in 2.17.1.

Harry Rus­sell won the B string shot with 7.58m, while Sam Turner-O’Toole leapt high­est in the A string high jump with a PB of 1.53m, and Phoenix Everiss was sec­ond in the B string javelin with 28.16m.

Orla Wil­liams had an­other su­perb run for the U13 girls, win­ning the A string 1200m in a PB of 3.52.2, which was enough for fifth on the na­tional rank­ings, while Holly Hen­der­son was sec­ond in the B string with a PB of 4.19.4.

In the 800m, a PB of 2.32.8 was enough for Laura Wil­liams to fin­ish third, while Ab­bie Hen­der­son won the B string in a PB of 2.38.1, and Elaenor May­hew con­tin­ued the PB trend in the sprints, win­ning the 150m in 20.70 and com­ing third in the 75m in 10.60.

There were also good con­tri­bu­tions from the U13 boys, in­clud­ing Matt Al­dred win­ning the 1500m B string and Gabriel Baker win­ning the 800m B string on his de­but.
