Impressive set of results helps Harriers in to second place
Good performances across disciplines leads to success for girls
They had another great match at Little Marlow on Sunday, finishing second behind league leaders Bedford & County, who are also the only team ahead of them in the overall standings with one fixture left.
Sade Wallace had a great debut for the U15 girls with a win in A string discus (21.74m), while another debutant, Jane Williamson, ran her first 1500m race and took third in the A string in 5.06.5. Beth Welham had an excellent day with three personal bests, winning both B string discus (16.74m) and javelin (19.14m), and finishing second in B string 1500m (5.10.3).
Millie Hughes also bagged a couple of PBs for second place in A string hammer (19.25m) and javelin (24.85m), as well as finishing second in the B string shot.
Race of the day was the U15 boys 1500m, where three boys gained English Schools qualifying times, including Chiltern’s Cameron Reid, who finished third in 4.22.00, while Alex Aldred won the B string in a PB of 4.42.50.
The 800m also provided good points for Chiltern, with Angus Williams impressive in winning the A string in 2.09.10 and Thomas Job coming second in the B string in 2.17.1.
Harry Russell won the B string shot with 7.58m, while Sam Turner-O’Toole leapt highest in the A string high jump with a PB of 1.53m, and Phoenix Everiss was second in the B string javelin with 28.16m.
Orla Williams had another superb run for the U13 girls, winning the A string 1200m in a PB of 3.52.2, which was enough for fifth on the national rankings, while Holly Henderson was second in the B string with a PB of 4.19.4.
In the 800m, a PB of 2.32.8 was enough for Laura Williams to finish third, while Abbie Henderson won the B string in a PB of 2.38.1, and Elaenor Mayhew continued the PB trend in the sprints, winning the 150m in 20.70 and coming third in the 75m in 10.60.
There were also good contributions from the U13 boys, including Matt Aldred winning the 1500m B string and Gabriel Baker winning the 800m B string on his debut.
