CHESHAM and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan paid a visit to a new school in Chalfont St Giles.

She visited Newland College to meet Ben Toettcher, the proprietor, and David Shandley, the headteacher, along with students and staff on Friday June 10.

She said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Newland College and was impressed by the commitment of the teaching staff to delivering a high quality and individualised education for the pupils there. The focus on roundtable discussion and collaborative learning was interesting for me to observe and engage with. I found the pupils to be highly motivated and inquisitive learners. I am an internationalist myself, and appreciated the breadth of options offered at the school, suiting many different areas of interest and skills.”
