Brothers’ app could just be the answer
Lightbulb moment for AsQ program came in a meeting with a client
Imran and Irfan Arif, from Chesham, have now launched their app called AsQ nationally, after successfully piloting the app in Bucks.
The app works by people asking putting in their question, selecting how far they want their question to go, selecting the job category and then the question is sent to all the service providers signed up to the app within the user’s selected radius.
Irfan, 29, who works as a lawyer, came up with the idea during a consultation with a client when the client remarked that if he been able to get the answer to his question there and then when he needed it, it may have saved him some time and money.
Imran, 26, a charted accountant, added: “Irfan began thinking, why can’t people access information/ services/expertise, right there and then when they require it?
“There seemed to be a gap in the market for a platform which gives you access to people with the expertise you seek in real time. Google does not meet that criteria and neither does Facebook, and there are no similar apps to ours out there.
“We wanted to keep it simple – ask a question and get a response – and you can choose the radius in your local area, and then leave a rating for the person who answered your question.
“The important thing is that this app puts you, the person seeking expertise, in control, forcing service providers to come to you, rather than the other way around. We see this app developing into an information tool for people wherever they are.”
Imran said the reaction to the app has been ‘beyond what they expected.’
He added: “The people using all loved the idea and how simple it is to use. They always give an example of when the app would’ve come handy in the past when they’ve tried to find someone to do some work for them.
“We hope to have many downloads and people signing up, because the more people use it, the more information that can be shared.”
