THE HOSPICE OF ST FRANCIS
THE Hospice of St Francis cares for people across Bucks and Herts facing life-limiting illness, among them local mum-of-two, Charlie Frankum, who after a diagnosis of cancer in 2013, was given just two months to live last June.
Since then, with the support of the hospice, Charlie has rallied and says: “I can never thank the hospice enough for helping me heal at a critical time in my recovery and giving me back my life.
“I feel strong, determined and incredibly positive about the future and it’s down to meditating, trusting the universe, having faith that my angels are looking after me and just knowing that there are lots of people at the hospice I can turn to if I feel worried about anything at all.”
You can read more of Charlie’ story in our summer newsletter, available on our website here www.stfrancis.org. uk/media-centre/ newsletters.
Meanwhile, as summer continues, we have lots going on in July for those in our community.

Sunshine and record crowds set the seal on our most successful garden party ever, raising more than £38,000 to help fund our vital care.
More than 4,000 visitors made the most of the sunshine to flock to the biggest event in our fundraising calendar, which took place in the stunning grounds of Ashridge House on Sunday, May 22.
Supporters enjoyed Pimms and picnics on the lawn, cream teas, barbecue and salad lunches on the terrace as well as live music, children’s entertainment and over 45 stalls selling locally produced and handmade wares.
Hospice CEO, Steve Jamieson, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making our garden party such a wonderful success – from our hosts Ashridge House, main sponsors Home and Abroad Rentals and Pimms stall sponsor BP Sanders, to our volunteers, stall holders and staff. It was fabulous to see so many supporters of the Hospice having fun and raising vital funds for the work we do.”
