Play Chartridge summer fair raises thousands for charity
Thousands raised for charity at school’s successful summer fair
Organisers have hailed an ‘absolutely fantastic’ day out for the second ever Play Chartridge, Chartridge School’s summer fair.
Held on Saturday (July 2) from noon until 8pm, live music, and a variety of family fun kept the crowds entertained and helped make the day a ‘great success’.
A surprise appearance from award-winning musician Finley Quaye in the crowd was a highlight, said Sarah-Jane Axelby, chair of the PTA, who said he would ‘love to perform next year’.
Mrs Axelby, 41, said it was an ‘absolute’ success: “It was an absolutely amazing day and a fantastic atmosphere. We’ve got a wonderful school.”
Mrs Axelby would like to say a ‘huge thank you’ to all of the sponsors, including Waitrose, Jeeped and Coyle White Devine, who were the main sponsors, and to Gary Bull who helped to put the music together and co-chair of the PTA Ellie Sheahan.
