We are excited about our new nursery in Chalfont St Peter. The Phoenix has been empty for nearly four years so it will be great to see it brought to life again
THE CHALFONT Writers’ Hub launched a collection of village tales as part of Chalfont St Peter Library’s golden jubilee celebrations.
St Peter’s Shorts was launched on June 22 in the library and contains a number of fictional short stories which deal with the changing landscape and ambience of the village.
Issues such as the Holy Cross site are covered, as are elusive figures such as the founder of the Maria Taylor charity, the ghost of a former councillor and Feast Day.
Sue Amos, founder of the hub, said: ‘We meet as a group every last Wednesday in the month in the library.
“This is our way of saying thank you to Chalfont St Peter Community Library for their support and the great service they provide the community.”
The book costs £4 and is available from the Library. All proceeds go direct to the library.
