Cross dominate from the start to demolish Thame
which they dominated from start to finish.
The Cross bowlers made an immediate impact after Thame were asked to bat, Jon Denning (2-27) and Dan Hampton (3-34) removing the top order as Thame crumbled to 34-4.
Will Sutcliffe offered some resistance before Richard Knudsen (2-23) trapped him leg before, and then had Mushtaq stumped by Harry Nichols. Elliot Green cleaned up the tail to finish with three wickets, conceding just one, from 5.1 overs, four of which were maidens, as Thame were all out for 88.
The Cross batsmen were in no mood to grind out victory, and this became evident when Matt Watson (44) hit his first ball for four.
In partnership with AJ Woodland (32), an opening stand of 80 put the match out of Thame’s reach, before Billy Hunt hit the winning runs in the twentieth over.
The win moved Cross off the bottom of the table, while Amersham stayed third after beating Aston Rowant by 49 runs. Edward Bockock posted 76 while Maduka Liyanapathiranage and Alex Lines finished with identical figures of 4-42.
