Green show off new pitch in a mighty clash of the Leg­ends

“The new pitch should hold the weather bet­ter, and we will hope­fully at­tract play­ers who want to play on a good sur­face.

“It’s been a huge un­der­tak­ing and we are grate­ful to Keith Scott for bring­ing his Wy­combe Leg­ends side down for the of­fi­cial open­ing.”

The new pitch, which cost a to­tal of £128,476 to lay, was made pos­si­ble by a £68,194 grant from the Foot­ball Sta­dia Im­prove­ment Fund.

How­ever, the club has no plans to make any fur­ther ground im­prove­ments, de­spite be­ing de­nied pro­mo­tion to the Hel­lenic Premier due to ground grad­ing.

Latta added: “You al­ways want to play at the high­est pos­si­ble level, but the FA do not make it easy for clubs like us based in green belt land with no chance of get­ting per­mis­sion for flood­lights or stands.”
