What a wonderful concert for Chrysalis fundraisers
CHOIR members are singing for joy after raising more than £2,000 for charity.
Chrysalis Community Choir recently performed their summer concert titled What a wonderful World at Broadway Baptist Church in The Broadway, Chesham.
This year, the chosen charity to benefit from the concert was Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
Featuring songs from around the world and about the world it was a great evening of music including special guests Annette Yeo, an original cast member of Mamma Mia, and Caroline Watsham playing the saw.
The evening has been deemed a ‘huge success’ raising more than £2,000 for the hospice.
And after eight successful years of Chrysalis Community Choir, September will see the launch of Chrysalis Kids Choir (CKC) for children in years one to six.
The choir will learn a range of music from Bruno Mars to Lionel Bart and will teach the children vocal skills and performance art.
CKC will be ‘twinned’ with The Ark – a day centre run by UK charity Global Care, caring for up to 15 children with disabilities in rural Uganda, and will put on concerts during the year to raise money to further the work of The Ark.
The aim is to see real change in the lives of these desperately vulnerable children and CKC members will learn first hand how their fundraising is making a difference.
