What a won­der­ful con­cert for Chrysalis fundrais­ers

CHOIR mem­bers are singing for joy af­ter rais­ing more than £2,000 for char­ity.

Chrysalis Com­mu­nity Choir re­cently per­formed their sum­mer con­cert ti­tled What a won­der­ful World at Broad­way Bap­tist Church in The Broad­way, Che­sham.

This year, the cho­sen char­ity to ben­e­fit from the con­cert was Ren­nie Grove Hospice Care.

Fea­tur­ing songs from around the world and about the world it was a great evening of mu­sic in­clud­ing spe­cial guests An­nette Yeo, an orig­i­nal cast mem­ber of Mamma Mia, and Caro­line Wat­sham play­ing the saw.

The evening has been deemed a ‘huge suc­cess’ rais­ing more than £2,000 for the hospice.

And af­ter eight suc­cess­ful years of Chrysalis Com­mu­nity Choir, Septem­ber will see the launch of Chrysalis Kids Choir (CKC) for chil­dren in years one to six.

The choir will learn a range of mu­sic from Bruno Mars to Lionel Bart and will teach the chil­dren vo­cal skills and per­for­mance art.

CKC will be ‘twinned’ with The Ark – a day cen­tre run by UK char­ity Global Care, car­ing for up to 15 chil­dren with dis­abil­i­ties in ru­ral Uganda, and will put on con­certs dur­ing the year to raise money to fur­ther the work of The Ark.

The aim is to see real change in the lives of these des­per­ately vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren and CKC mem­bers will learn first hand how their fundrais­ing is mak­ing a dif­fer­ence.
