Neighbourhood area plans
SOUTH Bucks District Council (SBDC) is asking people for their opinions about Gerrards Cross Town Council’s (GCTC) plans to establish a neighbourhood area for the town.
On the June 28, GCTC submitted an application to (SBDC) seeking to declare the entire parish of Gerrards Cross a neighbourhood area.
SBDC will be consulting on the application for a period of four weeks from July 28 to 5pm on August 26, after which SBDC will determine the application, taking into account all written comments received within the consultation period.
SBDC councilor Nick Naylor, portfolio holder for sustainable development, said: “I would like to encourage anyone living in this area to submit their comments on this application before 5pm on Friday August 26. This is a great opportunity for residents to have a say on potential future developments in their local community.”
Chris Brown, chairman of GCTC, said: “GCTC believes it is appropriate that the town is designated a neighbourhood area in order to ensure the future development within the area is in-keeping with the views and aspirations the residents.”
Details of the application and how to submit comments are available at www.southbucks.gov.uk/ planning/gerrardscross.
Details include a map of the proposed area and a statement in support of the application by Gerrards Cross Town Council (GCTC). of
If the neighbourhood area is declared, GCTC will be able to produce a neighbourhood plan for the area which to determine planning applications in the parish area.
