frustration from the visiting batsmen, and the resultant rash shots led to their downfall as Cookham slipped to 103-6

A partnership of 53 between Patrick Castleden (46) and Richard Lucas (20) aided their recovery before Richard Knudsen (4-28) returned for his second spell. He claimed four wickets in nine balls, including three in one over, as Cookham lost their last four wickets for just seven runs.

The Cross recovered from the loss of an early wicket as AJ Woodland (31) and Harry Nichols (46) shared a second wicket stand of 71.

Following their dismissals in the space of a few overs, Dan Hampton (44no) and Billy Hunt (43no) were untroubled by the Cookham bowlers and guided the Cross to victory with an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 81.

The Cross have now moved out of the relegation zone, leapfrogging both Cookham and Thame Town, and their next game is at Aston Rowant, who lie just one place above them.
