A SU­PER-FIT den­tist from Chal­font St Pe­ter who tack­led his first ever half Iron­man to raise money for a lo­cal char­ity fin­ished the race in un­der seven hours.

Paul Cruci, 58, from Kingsway, who is hop­ing to raise £3,000 for Wil­liam’s Fund – a Ger­rards Cross based char­ity that funds re­search into child­hood can­cers – com­pleted a 1,900 me­tre swim in the Thames, a 56 mile bike ride and a half marathon in six hours and 50 min­utes.

Dr Cruci, a root canal spe­cial­ist, raced in the Mar­low half iron dis­tance triathlon on Sun­day July 17, with his swim tak­ing him 32 min­utes, the bike ride three hours 57 and the run two hours 25.
