HS2 SIGN IS RATHER PRESUMPTUOUS

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

COMING out of Beaconsfield towards the M40 junction the other day, I was rather surprised to see a small yellow sign on the left, about 100 yards from the Pyebush roundabout, which read: “HS2 Construction Route.

Expect delays 2018 – 2028”. Rather shocking for most local residents, I would imagine. The HS2 vanity project has not had the final go-ahead and may, hopefully, be cancelled by the new Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, this sign is warning us of something that may not happen and, to all accounts, is several miles from the nearest tunnelling point at Denham, where there are other motorway connections.

Does someone know something we don’t, and by whose authority was the sign put up anyway?
