Armed raiders at­tempt car­a­van break-in

AN ARMED gun­man tried to break into a car­a­van in Iver.

A gang of four to five men ap­proached a static car­a­van at Thor­ney Sta­bles, Thor­ney Lane North, be­tween 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Mon­day Au­gust 1.

They tried to break into the oc­cu­pied car­a­van but left empty-handed. No one was harmed dur­ing the in­ci­dent in which one of the gang had a firearm.

The of­fend­ers made their get­away in a dark coloured BMW and a dark coloured Vaux­hall As­tra.

Thames Val­ley Po­lice is ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses fol­low­ing the at­tempt.

Se­nior In­ves­ti­gat­ing Of­fi­cer, Stu­art Cook of Force CID based at Ayles­bury Po­lice Sta­tion said: “We are ap­peal­ing for any­one who has in­for­ma­tion about this in­ci­dent, we are par­tic­u­larly keen on any­one who may have seen a dark coloured BMW and a dark coloured As­tra on Thor­ney Lane North, head­ing to­wards Iver high street at around 11.30pm.

“We be­lieve this is an iso­lated in­ci­dent and our in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing.

“We have in­creased pa­trols in the area to re­as­sure the com­mu­nity.

“Any­one with in­for­ma­tion or con­cerns should con­tact Thames Val­ley Po­lice on 101 or speak to a lo­cal neigh­bour­hood of­fi­cer.”
