CEDARS Vil­lage, a lo­cal pri­vate re­tire­ment com­mu­nity in leafy Chor­ley­wood, is throw­ing its doors open and invit­ing the pub­lic to look around. Vis­i­tors are wel­come to pop in be­tween 10.30am and 1pm on Mon­day (15 Au­gust) to tour the grounds and facilities.They can join in with groups or ac­tiv­i­ties and talk to ex­ist­ing res­i­dents, who en­joy fun and ac­tive so­cial lives, to find out about re­tire­ment vil­lage life.

Cedars’ open day pro­vides an op­por­tu­nity for peo­ple who wish to know more about re­tire­ment vil­lages to call in and ex­pe­ri­ence life there for them­selves.

Re­tire­ment Vil­lages is aim­ing the day at po­ten­tial buy­ers and their fam­i­lies, but is keen to em­pha­sise that ev­ery­one is wel­come.

Cedars Vil­lage is rep­re­sented by lo­cal es­tate agents Binks, who will hap­pily pro­vide in­for­ma­tion about the vil­lage it­self and avail­able prop­er­ties to any­one in­ter­ested in join­ing the vil­lage com­mu­nity.

The heart of Cedars Vil­lage is Cedars Man­sion House, a mag­nif­i­cently restored Grade II listed build­ing sit­ting in beau­ti­ful land­scaped grounds.This con­tains an el­e­gant restau­rant, ball­room, li­brary, hob­bies room, med­i­cal cen­tre, snooker room, bar and Victorian conservatory.

Res­i­dents, who en­joy full ac­cess to all these facilities, live in­de­pen­dently in the com­fort of their own cot­tages, bun­ga­lows or apart­ments.There are 154 prop­er­ties – lo­cated ei­ther in the Man­sion House it­self or in the 22 acres of sur­round­ing man­i­cured grounds. There is a strong, wel­com­ing com­mu­nity feel in Cedars Vil­lage and plenty for res­i­dents to get in­volved with in­clud­ing lo­cal walks, a cricket ground and an area of nat­u­ral wood­land known as Chor­ley­wood Com­mon.

In ad­di­tion, res­i­dents of Cedars Vil­lage en­joy a thriv­ing so­cial life with a busy sched­ule of groups, events and ac­tiv­i­ties but none of these are oblig­a­tory of course.
