There’ll be some his­tory in the mak­ing at Chiltern Open Air Mu­seum this Au­gust as a se­ries of spe­cial events will help vis­i­tors dis­cover what life was like many years ago.

First up, cos­tumed re­an­ac­tors will bring the me­dieval pe­riod to life on Au­gust 13 and Au­gust 14.

Vik­ings will be in­vad­ing the mu­seum for the third time on Au­gust 20 and 21 and you can have the chance to meet the war­riors, their weapons and bat­tle gear, hear the sounds of the melee and wit­ness the Vik­ing vic­tory re­told in a saga of the bat­tle.

And on bank hol­i­day Sun­day and Mon­day (Au­gust 28 and 29) find out about life in Tu­dor Times and gather with the Mili­tia to op­pose the Ar­mada in a fam­ily-friendly liv­ing his­tory event.

Vis­i­tor ex­pe­ri­ence man­ager Siân Ham­mer­ton-Fraser said: “We’re de­lighted to be able to bring this pe­riod of his­tory to life for our vis­i­tors.”
