Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

AROUND 3,000 people flocked to the Colne Valley Festival at Denham Country Park as revellers enjoyed the glorious summer sunshine.

Local bands such as Ask Your Mum, Deserted Island Discs, Dirty Mavis and Fire at Will played to the crowds, and businesses such as Chesham based Red Squirrel Brewery were also there.

There were also representatives from the Hillingdon Natural History Society and the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust.

A 2,000 strong duck race also kept the crowds entertained, as children enjoyed splashing and colling of in the stream.

Debbie Valman, project manager, said: “It went really well, it was really busy.

“The sun shone and it was lovely.”

She added: “I enjoyed it. It’s hard work but everybody had a good day.

“It was really nice to see so many people out. Our new playground was full to the rafters.”

The event was put on by Colne Valley Regional Park and Groundwork South, ‘with the help of a whole army of volunteers.”

Debbie added: “Give them a pat on the back from me – they were great.”
