Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION - JOHN PIMBLETT

I would just like to thank everyone who made our visit to Amersham and Chesham such an unforgettable event.

My daughter Sarah and her husband Adam were married at St Mary’s in Old Amersham on Sunday, July 31. Our family lives in the Wigan area ‘ up North’ and had travelled down to stay at the King’s Arms for the weekend.

The party had come together from far and wide including the best man and family flying in from The States, friends from Cyprus and Malta and even an Olympian from 2012.

Everything was fantastic, the help from everyone who willingly assisted our family occasion and the close proximity of all amenities.

On Saturday evening the groom and several male friends went out for the evening in Chesham at Papad in Broad Street, we were treated to an excellent meal and great service.

The taxi service was lovely with our drivers being very pleasant and helpful, many thanks to all at Gilbert’s Taxis.

The wedding day could have been very stressful but because everyone was so helpful, it wasn’t.

Due to the short distance between the hotel and the church we had decided to walk.

This was my highlight of the whole weekend, walking down the high street with my daughter and the bridesmaids while traffic stopped for us and people came out to watch and pass on good wishes, was amazing!

The wedding service was beautiful and very personal.

The venue was perfect in every detail catering for everyone’s needs and providing a wonderful evening, and the weather was good too. Thank you to all. I look forward to visiting the area many times in the future.
