Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION - JUDITH MILLINER

I refer to the letter from Chris Denzar ‘HS2 sign is rather presumptuous.’

The impact of construction traffic throughout the Chilterns will be huge. To say it’s several miles from the nearest tunnelling point is quite wrong.

Tunnelling will be taking place underneath Coleshill, Old Amersham, and indeed there is a venting shaft in Little Missenden.

A tunnel portal will exit at South Heath. All traffic using the A355 for access.

The sign is a realistic appraisal of the impending disruption on all our local roads from the estimated 40 lorries per hour servicing this enormous project.

The action groups working against this vanity project are doing a fantastic job, and I find it quite sad that this very inoffensive sign should cause such indignation.
