Delight at double report success

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SCHOOL’S NEWS -

PUPILS and staff at an infant school are celebrating after receiving two glowing reports.

A recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) inspection at Little Missenden CofE Infant School has just published its report which concluded that: “The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Little Missenden Infant School as a Church of England school are outstanding.”

It comments that the “strong community and church links put the school at the heart of the village leading to benefits for all children.”

It reports on the impact of the school’s values which “results in excellent behaviour, positive relationships and children who have the confidence to have a go.”

The recent Ofsted report also commented on the children’s behaviour, saying: “Around the school, pupil’s behaviour is impeccable.”

The inspector also noticed that the focus on “securing measurable improvements in teaching and learning [have] led to increased achievement.”

She also commented on the great range of activities that were in evidence around the school, saying: “Everyone appreciates the wealth of experiences on offer at the school.”

This prompted the inspector’s concluding observation that: “Pupils enjoy school, work diligently and consequently achieve well. In lessons, pupils concentrate and work hard. Pupils’ behaviour is impeccable.”

Headteacher Michelle Green said: “I’m delighted that both reports recognised the distinctive nature of the school and the positive contribution of the ‘vital partnership’ of pupils, staff, parents and governors working together which ensures that ‘teamwork is central’ to the success of the school.’”
