Art event is on the right track

CHIL­DREN got cre­ative to pro­duce a va­ri­ety of work dur­ing their school’s art fort­night.

Thomas Hard­ing School in Fullers Hill, Che­sham, re­cently held its an­nual art fort­night.

The theme this year was The Rail­way Chil­dren.

Over the two weeks, the chil­dren used their art and English skills to pro­duce ‘fan­tas­tic’ pieces of art work and writ­ing based on the stim­u­lus.

The Im­age Theatre vis­ited the school and pupils got in­volved with their in­ter­ac­tive pro­duc­tion of The Rail­way Chil­dren. Lo­cal artists Louise Hick­man and Tony Moody vis­ited school to per­form work­shops and De­bra Fran­cis Bean ex­plained in an assem­bly what it is like to be an artist.

Head of art and de­sign at Chiltern Hills Academy Sarah Geary vis­ited Thomas Hard­ing School with some Year Nine pupils who worked with the chil­dren to cre­ate some amaz­ing art­work.
