having successfully built businesses overseas, but when they returned to the UK from South Africa Mari took a full-time job.

“During that time the family had grown with the arrival of their second and third children and the couple wanted a way of working that would dovetail with the new demands of their family life.”

The couple will now feature on the Business website, which offers advice, support and inspiration to the growing army of fampreneurs in the UK.

Mari said: “Kevin and I had worked together in South Africa but not here in the UK and we missed the camaraderie of a joint enterprise.

"But with three children the idea of starting entirely from scratch was too daunting.

“We decided to go the franchise route and signed up with TaxAssist, which meant we were able to be up and running in a very short time frame.”

Kevin added: “To receive the Fampreneur of the Month accolade so early in the life of our business is a real boost to us and hopefully one that will inspire all those in safe jobs who dream of setting up in their own business.

“Doing it with a family member is all the more rewarding as you start on a foundation of trust, fully understanding the strength of everyone on the team and having the ultimate commitment to success as you’re providing for your family together.”
