Fun at an Olympic-themed fundraiser for mums and tots at Chilterns TinyTalk group

TinyTalk Chilterns, which de­liv­ers baby sign­ing classes, helped raise money for The Rain­bow Trust by hold­ing spe­cial Olympic themed ses­sions at Water­stones, in High Street, Che­sham, on Mon­day.

With lively nurs­ery mul­ti­sen­sory and in­stru­ments, ba­bies, tod­dlers and their par­ents and car­ers in Che­sham got ac­tive and learnt Olympic themed signs at the event. The ses­sions, one for ba­bies aged 0 to 18 months and one for tod­dles, were sup­ported by Water­stones. a mix of rhymes, toys TinyTalk Che­sham Berkham­sted Sil­ver­stone teacher in and Laura said: “When teach­ing signs to ba­bies it’s im­por­tant to sign in con­text. Our mantra is ‘See it, Say it and sign it.’

“It would be great to watch some of the Olympics with your baby or tod­dler and ac­tu­ally for them back.

“I love help­ing my mums and dads sup­port their chil­dren’s com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills. Be­ing a TinyTalk teacher is so worth­while as I know that I make a dif­fer­ence to the lives of my fam­i­lies. The ben­e­fit of teach­ing your baby to sign, to be able to com­mu­ni­cate with you from such an early age, is price­less.

“It was great that we were able to fundraise for The Rain­bow Trust by do­ing these ses­sions. Tinytalk has sup­ported the char­ity for a few years.

“It helps care for fam­i­lies with a child with a ter­mi­nal or life threat­en­ing ill­ness and is sadly close to many of our fam­i­lies hearts.”
