A SUC­CESS­FUL char­ity talk helped raise more than £700 to go to­wards a church or­gan’s much needed restora­tion.

The Friends of Great Mis­senden Par­ish Church re­cently or­gan­ised for the speak­ers to give a talk in aid of the restora­tion ap­peal.

The talk, In­dia Thru’ Three Pairs of Eyes, was given by the church’s vicar Canon Rosie Harper, bell-ringer and stal­wart sup­porter of the Friends’ weekly cream teas An­drew Ed­wards and trustee and com­mit­tee mem­ber of the Friends Jill Robert­son.

Al­most 80 peo­ple went along to the event which raised £707.

Chair­man of the Friends of Great Mis­senden Par­ish Church Vivi­enne Davis said: “We had a very happy af­ter­noon.”

Since 2000, the small char­ity has do­nated more than £115,000 to­wards ur­gent restora­tion and re­pair work to the vil­lage’s much-loved and his­toric church.

The Friends has made three grants of £46,570 to­wards the Or­gan Restora­tion Ap­peal since March this year.
