RESTORING CHURCH ORGAN TO ITS FORMER GLORY
A SUCCESSFUL charity talk helped raise more than £700 to go towards a church organ’s much needed restoration.
The Friends of Great Missenden Parish Church recently organised for the speakers to give a talk in aid of the restoration appeal.
The talk, India Thru’ Three Pairs of Eyes, was given by the church’s vicar Canon Rosie Harper, bell-ringer and stalwart supporter of the Friends’ weekly cream teas Andrew Edwards and trustee and committee member of the Friends Jill Robertson.
Almost 80 people went along to the event which raised £707.
Chairman of the Friends of Great Missenden Parish Church Vivienne Davis said: “We had a very happy afternoon.”
Since 2000, the small charity has donated more than £115,000 towards urgent restoration and repair work to the village’s much-loved and historic church.
The Friends has made three grants of £46,570 towards the Organ Restoration Appeal since March this year.
