‘Over the moon’ at support from village
Boutique owners thrilled at response to their fashion store
THE CO-OWNER of a fashion boutique which opened earlier this year has lauded the people of Chalfont St Giles.
Carly Griffin, along with Ryan Sweales and Hannah Fox, owns Lulu and Moon, an affordable ladies’ clothes shop found on the High Street.
Opening at the end of May the shop has been going ‘better than we ever imagined’, according to Carly.
She added: “Everyone in the village has been so supportive and we have customers coming over from Tring, High Wycombe, Denham and Norholt.
“We are over the moon with how it’s been going.”
Carly knows the village well having grown up in it, and says of the team that everyone ‘knows us and supports what we are doing’.
She added: “Working in Chalfont St Giles is great.
“Ryan and myself own Little Retreat, the beauty salon on the high street, so Lulu and Moon was created with our clients from the salon in mind.
“We have a wide age range of of clients at Little Retreat and there was nowhere in the village for affordable fashion so we thought we would go for it.”
Carly, who said she is ‘so proud of her village’, added: “We are really enjoying the shop.
“Hannah and I do all the buying which is really fun, it’s the best bit choosing clothes for the ladies of St Giles.
“Hannah used to work at the Topshop flagship store as a visual merchandiser, so she is a pro.
“We get things in only a couple of times so once it’s gone it’s gone.
“We don’t want the whole village wearing the same outfit.
“And Ryan is in charge of how much we can spend.”
