NEW ERA FOR PARISH CHURCH
BOB OLDER Church warden Chalfont St Peter parish churches
CHALFONT St Peter Parish Churches – St Peter’s in the village centre, All Saints in Oval Way and St Paul’s at Hornhill – are moving into a new season. Our vicar, Charles, is retiring after the 11am service on October 2.
That service will be followed by a farewell lunch in the Parish Hall to which all Parishioners are welcome but for which booking via the Church Office before September 28 is required.
Over the coming months we will be working through the process towards appointment of a new vicar.
Meanwhile, a revised pattern of services commenced on Sunday, September 4 continuing to offer a wide variety of worship styles and locations.
The usual services on a Sunday will begin with a reflective, spoken Holy Communion at 8am at All Saints.
Contemporary Worship begins at 9.30am in St Peter’s with the first 15 minutes being specially child friendly before continuing with more adult focused worship and teaching addressing the issues facing us all.
Our Foundation café service for families with young children commences at 9.45am in the Parish Hall when our young people’s groups (Ignite 7-11 years and Roots 11- 18 years) also begin their break-out activities.
Traditional Sung Eucharist is at 11am in St Peter’s, and Evensong is held at St Paul’s at 4pm.
On the third Sunday of the month there is a new Sung Eucharist service at All Saints at 6.30 pm.
This is only part of our rich menu of opportunities for worship and fellowship and everyone is assured of a very warm welcome to whichever suits their preference.
