DRAGON’S BUSINESS BOOST FOR MUM
Tweet from Theo works wonders
MUMPRENEUR Alison Harper has been singled out for praise from businessman Theo Paphitis.
Her Beaconsfield-based online company Baby & Tots Boutique has become one of the latest small businesses to receive a boost from the former Dragon’s Den star.
Last week, Alison tweeted Theo about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000 Twitter followers.
The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has 1,700 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
Mr Paphitis re-tweeted Alison Harper’s message to his followers and as a result, www.babyandtots. co.uk has gained more than 100 ad- ditional followers as well as extra orders for its preloved children’s clothes.
The company is also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
Alison said: “Wow, I can’t believe I’ve won this award.
“We have only been in business six months and can’t believe my new business has been recognised by such a high profile entrepreneur.
“It is great to have support from Theo because it’s been tough trying to raise our profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his following.”
Mr Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.
“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.
“The website and Shop #SBS will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Baby & Tots Boutique every success.”
