Bespoke contemporary home in stunning setting

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - BUCKS PROPERTY -

OVER the past 12 years, Andi and Roger Price have enjoyed everything about life at Lantern Lights, their magnificent, architect-designed house at Gerrards Cross.“Quite simply, we built the house of our dreams here,” said Roger.“It has everything in it we desired, from great windows, through which we can watch glorious sunsets to a beautiful garden, which was professionally mapped out.”

The plot, just over an acre in size, was surrounded by trees.“We felt it was on the nicest street in Gerrards Cross, and we liked the fact it was opposite an Iron Age hill fort and backed on to Bulstrode Park. It seemed ideal for us.”

The property boasts a number of 21st-century features, such as intelligent lighting, with sensors; a smart home system, to control the heating, and automatic blinds. There are also solar panels and a leak detection system.

It is a property that would certainly suit a family or home owners who enjoyed entertaining.“For me the kitchen is the heart of the home,” said Andi.“It is open-plan, which means you can still be part of the action while you are cooking. Having said

that we do have American white oak sliding doors in case we want to close it off while we are entertaining.”

“When you sit in the drawing room you feel as if you are right out in the garden. We love being able to look out at the views, which are constantly changing and where you can watch one season move into the next.”

“In the winter we can see through to Bulstrode Park at the back, where there are often cattle grazing and we enjoy the beautiful sunsets through the trees,” said Roger.
