PUPILS TAKE TIME TO RE­MEM­BER

PUPILS at Malt­man’s Green School in Ger­rards Cross were joined by Ma­jorGen­eral (re­tired) In­shaw for a very spe­cial Remembrance As­sem­bly in the Lapraik Hall.

Each class made a poppy wreath last week and these were laid down by the girls dur­ing the ser­vice.

A school spokesman said every­one was in­ter­ested to hear Ma­jor-Gen­eral In­shaw’s talk. He shared how since 1918 the his­tory of our ser­vices’ in­volve­ment in con­flicts and ar­eas in which the armed forces were needed. Girls from Year 6 also read a poem.

On Fri­day Novem­ber 11 the school will ob­serve a min­utes si­lence at 11am. On Sun­day Novem­ber 13, the head­mistress, Mrs Par­don will be ac­com­pa­nied by pupils at the Remembrance Ser­vice at Ger­rards Cross Me­mo­rial Cen­tre on East Com­mon at 10.30am.
