Mary back on screens for festive special
Baking star joins chef James Martin for Christmas show
PENN’S Mary Berry will be returning to our screens this festive season on James Martin’s Christmas with Friends to share stories and recipes.
The pair are good friends, and pictures have been released of the two having a jolly good time on Martin’s Royal Enfield bike and sidecar.
Mary even donned customised leathers for the trip.
Other guests appearing in Martin’s two hour-long specials include actors Jimi Mistry and Jennie McAlpine and chef Brian Turner.
"Christmas is a time of year when food takes centre stage for many, so I’m looking forward to celebrating some classic seasonal dishes and revealing some new festive food ideas, with an entertaining and eclectic mix of guests. It promises to be a lot of fun,” said James Martin.
The BBC have also announced their next project with Mary Berry, following the conclusion of the BBC’s final Great British Bake Off season and Mary’s decision to stay on with the corporation rather than move to Channel 4 with fellow judge Paul Hollywood.
The Bucks baker will host a series which looks behind the closed doors of many of Britain’s greatest stately homes. Mary will examine the homes with their splendour and rich culinary histories, and producing her own special recipes to honour the culture and tradition of the homes.
Mary Berry’s Secrets From Britain’s Great Houses will consist of six, 30-minute episodes and will hit our screens next year.
James Martin’s Christmas with Friends will be shown on the Food Network on November 14 and 21 at 9pm.
