Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION - ANDREW WARREN Rotary in Amersham

ROTARY in Amersham has taken part in the national Rotary ‘Shoebox’ Scheme for 2016 and intends to expand this next year involving more children in Amersham. The aim is to provide a small shoebox size par- cel containing gifts to the poorest and most deprived children and their families in Romania and Moldova.

For some of these children it will be the first Christmas present they have ever had and it is always wonderful to see the smiles on their faces when they receive them.

Amersham Rotary wishes to give a big thank you to St George’s School in Amersham who contributed 73 filled boxes with some very nicely decorated ones.

These will be delivered at Christmas.

A total of 151 boxes were filled with help from others.

Theo Lelyveld, Anish Adapa, Ummayyah Khan, Maya-Emily Bryant pupils at St George’s School are seen in the picture above with the boxes.
