AS you may remember, it was Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday this September, but did you know he was a war hero?
Dahl flew for the RAF in Africa and the Middle East during World War II. He even narrowly escaped death when his plane crash landed in the dessert of what is now Libya.
Former RAF Pilot and local Dahl historian Graham Laurie speaks to children and adults at the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden for a special Remembrance Day workshop. Graham will talk about the incredible journey Dahl made in the Second World War, ending up as a spy alongside James Bond author Ian Fleming, and how it shaped his stories.
