MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD
KAREN DICKSON Chalfont St Peter Independent parish councillir and member of SENSE4CSP WITH the Local Plan now at its second stage of consultation, Chalfont St Peter is set to lose two valuable areas from the green belt – 28 hectares at the National Epilepsy site, and 13 hectares around Winkers.
The Winkers site is being considered for 420 more houses, while less is known about what is being planned for the NSE land.
A public meeting is being held on Monday night, November 21, at 7.30pm at the Goldhill Baptist Church.
This meeting is being run by our parish council and SENSE4CSP, and leaflets have been posted through every door in the village providing information for the meeting and about the colsultation.
Also, Chiltern District Council is running an exhibition on Saturday afternoon, November the 19, between 2pm and 5pm, at the parish council offices, where residents will be able to see how other villages are, or are not(!), being affected.
I know that most of us are probably suffering from CPF [Consultation and Protest Fatigue], and may be feeling completely cynical about the worth of any consultation. Please still make the effort to have your say though – don’t make it any easier for the people who don’t live in our village to decide our village’s future!
