ESPITE the wild and windy days of winter, activity in the local lettings market remains buoyant with demand for smaller houses and flats exceeding supply so new stock is urgently required, according to Kathi Taylor, lettings director at Tim Russ, Beaconsfield.

“Many newcomers to our lovely area choose to ‘try before they buy’ both in Beaconsfield and the surrounding villages and who could blame them?” said Kathi.

Sue Withey, senior lettings negotiator, is keen to point out that their superior local knowledge is invaluable in helping tenants to settle into the area whether it is to recommend the best dog walks along the river in Bourne End, toddler groups in Penn or to give information on rubbish collection in Beaconsfield Old Town.

“A lovely family from Kent will be renting a character home in Horseshoe Crescent in time for the festive season. I kept in contact with the family over the summer and once their plans were finalised, we met for a morning of viewings,” explained Sue.

“The bonus for us was that we pipped another agent to the post in letting it,” she added.

“We were also instrumental in finding a cottage in Old Town Close for a young man, who had just missed out on a home through another agent. We were able to reference him, get all the paperwork out to him and give him the keys to his new home within 48 hours.”

Just in are some lovely words from long-standing tenants in Penn:

‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sue and Kathi for all of your help and support over the last three years. It has been an absolute pleasure to deal with you both. You have always been friendly and efficient, dealing with every query or maintenance matter speedily, nothing ever being too much trouble’.
