LETTER TO CHIEF EXECUTIVE
ARTHUR J BEDBOROUGH Maple Court (Gerrards Cross) Residents Ltd
DEAR Mr Bob Smith
Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield have historically been two of the most desirable towns in the county but with easy access into London via the Chiltern Railway.
Beaconsfield has widely built a multi-storey car park by the station. Gerrards Cross only has a large car park by the station. With negotiation with Chiltern Railway, a multi-storey car park could be built, possibly much cheaper as it is out of sight of any residencies, but still close to the town centre.
Also, many of the bays taken up in the Station Road car park are used by people travelling to London, because it is cheaper than the Gerrards Cross Station car park.
The proposals to build a 4.5 storey car park in Station Road is a plan that has several negatives:
The amount of diesel and petrol fumes in Station Road with Tesco car park next door, all the new flats being built and the congestion would be unbearable.
The proposed car park (if you still proceed) would obliterate any colour – trees, bushes, foliage etc would not be visible from Station Road, making visits to Waitrose, the library amd all shops, flats and offices very dull indeed.
If you still proceed, we would have to name the erection . Can I suggest ‘Pentonville’ as the high walls will be only 17 yards away from the south-facing Maple Court, so we would fully expect a few drones dropping off packages.
