WORKAID, Che­sham

UN­TIL Fri­day De­cem­ber 2 the Che­sham based Workaid will be tak­ing part in the Big Give Match Fund­ing Christ­mas Chal­lenge.

This is the UK’s Big­gest on­line fund match­ing cam­paign.

Since it’s launch in 2008 the cam­paign has raised over £71mil­lions for more than 2500 projects.

Workaid is seek­ing funds so that in part­ner­ship with the YWCA Nairobi it can as­sist lo­cal com­mu­nity self help and vo­ca­tional train­ing projects to pro­vide prac­ti­cal skills train­ing to help HIV/Aids wid­ows and or­phans to gen­er­ate in­come thereby em­pow­er­ing them­selves, their fam­i­lies and their com­mu­ni­ties.

This is part of Workaid’s on­go­ing com­mit­ment to prac­ti­cal skills train­ing in East Africa and the UK.

All do­na­tions to Workaid via the BIG Give web­site to help this project will be dou­bled by funds al­ready se­cured by Workaid from key sup­port­ers.
