Pre­par­ing to care at Christ­mas

RENNIE Grove Hospice Care hopes to give as many pa­tients as pos­si­ble a fam­ily Christ­mas at home to­gether.

The char­ity, which spe­cialises in 24/7 re­spon­sive hospice at home care, is run­ning a num­ber of ini­tia­tives dur­ing De­cem­ber to help fund the cost of its nurs­ing care over Christ­mas, when nurses will travel more than 13,500 miles and carry out around 600 home vis­its dur­ing the 12 days of the fes­tive sea­son.

Choirs for Christ­mas

RENNIE Grove is seek­ing singers and bands to per­form as part of its fes­tive fundrais­ing in lo­cal and Lon­don sta­tions, which brought in more than £8,000 last De­cem­ber.

Maryle­bone and Padding­ton sta­tions will play host to the char­ity’s Christ­mas choirs be­tween 1pm and 8pm on Thurs­day 15 and Tues­day 20 De­cem­ber.

Knit­ting needed

RENNIE Grove is ask­ing peo­ple to knit, stuff and sell mini stock­ings or Fa­ther Christ­mas gift card hold­ers to raise funds and aware­ness of its 24/7 re­spon­sive ser­vice.

Sea­son’s greet­ings with lo­cal scenes

RENNIE Grove has 26 dif­fer­ent de­signs of Christ­mas card avail­able to buy on­line at­ on­li­neshop or in any of its 24 shops across Bucks and Herts.

Lo­cal scenes are back by pop­u­lar de­mand: ‘The Chal­fonts in Win­ter’ showcases the pretty duck pond and pe­riod houses in the heart of Chal­font St Giles and ‘Foot­prints in Bea­cons­field’ fea­tures a snowy scene of the church peep­ing from be­hind chim­ney pot and snowy rooves.

Car­ing Gifts

RENNIE Grove has ex­tended its range of Car­ing Gifts, of­fer­ing vouch­ers from £5 to £150 in value and pro­vid­ing peo­ple with a per­fect last-minute present so­lu­tion thanks to a new dig­i­tal for­mat.

Light up a Life

RENNIE Grove is host­ing its an­nual Light up a Life cer­e­monies in the run up to Christ­mas.

Dou­ble do­na­tion with the Big Give

FROM 12 noon on Novem­ber 29 un­til 12 noon on De­cem­ber 2, all do­na­tions made to Rennie Grove’s ‘Cop­ing with Christ­mas’ cam­paign on­­big­give will be matched by lo­cal phi­lan­thropists.

Rennie Grove hopes to raise £5,775 dur­ing the 72-hour chal­lenge, which will then be dou­bled. That would fund vis­its from Rennie Grove’s Fam­ily Sup­port team for two months, help­ing fam­i­lies dur­ing ill­ness and through be­reave­ment.

Christ­mas raf­fle

THIS year Rennie Grove’s raf­fle has a foodie flavour fea­tur­ing a first prize taste ex­pe­ri­ence for two at Mar­cus Ware­ing’s two Miche­lin star restau­rant, Mar­cus, and a whole host of other mouth-wa­ter­ing prizes.
