RENNIE GROVE HOSPICE
Preparing to care at Christmas
RENNIE Grove Hospice Care hopes to give as many patients as possible a family Christmas at home together.
The charity, which specialises in 24/7 responsive hospice at home care, is running a number of initiatives during December to help fund the cost of its nursing care over Christmas, when nurses will travel more than 13,500 miles and carry out around 600 home visits during the 12 days of the festive season.
Choirs for Christmas
RENNIE Grove is seeking singers and bands to perform as part of its festive fundraising in local and London stations, which brought in more than £8,000 last December.
Marylebone and Paddington stations will play host to the charity’s Christmas choirs between 1pm and 8pm on Thursday 15 and Tuesday 20 December.
RENNIE Grove is asking people to knit, stuff and sell mini stockings or Father Christmas gift card holders to raise funds and awareness of its 24/7 responsive service.

Local scenes are back by popular demand: ‘The Chalfonts in Winter’ showcases the pretty duck pond and period houses in the heart of Chalfont St Giles and ‘Footprints in Beaconsfield’ features a snowy scene of the church peeping from behind chimney pot and snowy rooves.
RENNIE Grove has extended its range of Caring Gifts, offering vouchers from £5 to £150 in value and providing people with a perfect last-minute present solution thanks to a new digital format.
Visit www.renniegrove.org/caringgifts and request an evoucher to be emailed to you or directly to your chosen recipient right up to Wednesday 21 December (postal vouchers can be ordered up till 2 December).
Light up a Life
RENNIE Grove is hosting its annual Light up a Life ceremonies in the run up to Christmas.
The non-denominational services offer an opportunity to come together and reflect on memories of loved ones in a supportive and peaceful environment. They are open to everyone. Visit www. renniegrove.org/ lightupalife.
Double donation with the Big Give
FROM 12 noon on November 29 until 12 noon on December 2, all donations made to Rennie Grove’s ‘Coping with Christmas’ campaign on www.renniegrove.org/thebiggive will be matched by local philanthropists.
Rennie Grove hopes to raise £5,775 during the 72-hour challenge, which will then be doubled. That would fund visits from Rennie Grove’s Family Support team for two months, helping families during illness and through bereavement.
THIS year Rennie Grove’s raffle has a foodie flavour featuring a first prize taste experience for two at Marcus Wareing’s two Michelin star restaurant, Marcus, and a whole host of other mouth-watering prizes.
