AN­DREW WAR­REN Ro­tary in Amer­sham

THE in­au­gu­ral meet­ing of The Ro­tary Club of Amer­sham was held at The Mill Stream, Amer­sham on the May 15 1946.

The chair­man was Mr F. G. Pen­man M.A.

Founder mem­bers in­cluded – Mr G. F. Brazil, the Rev­erend E. M. Page, E. S. Gates, H. R. Hoare, and A.T.Sly.

At the meet­ing Lt.Col. Gor­don Spencer Marston DSO MC was elected as founder pres­i­dent.

Since then, Ro­tary in Amer­sham has raised many thou­sands of pounds for char­i­ties it sup­ports and con­trib- utes to the com­mu­nity with events and ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing the young chef and young artists com­pe­ti­tions pop­u­lar with lo­cal schools.

As the re­sult of a char­ity golf day pres­i­dent Derek Bryant was re­cently able to present a cheque for £5,000 to Claire Re­drup, com­mu­nity fundrais­ing man­ager for Ren­nie Grove Hospice Care.
